Our Meads
​At Lion’s Head Meadery, we craft dry, wine-style meads with alcohol levels between 11.5–13.5%,
allowing the character of the fruit, honey, and terroir to shine.
While honey naturally contributes gentle acidity and floral aromatics,
we ferment of our meads with whole fruits to add natural acidity, colour, and subtle tannins,
creating balanced meads that pair beautifully with food.

—from the orchards of the Thompson Valley to the cool northern fields where haskap berries thrive.

Lion’s Pride – Traditional Mead
Our traditional mead celebrates the pure character of local honey from our own bees.
Floral aromas of wildflowers lead to a dry, elegant finish with a smooth body.
Sunlit Nectar – Pear Mead
Crafted from pears grown along the sunny shores of the Thompson Valley, this elegant mead is delicate and refreshing.
Our bees pollinate the orchards that produce the fruit, bringing the story of hive and harvest together in the glass.
Hera’s Gold – Apricot Mead
Named for Hera, goddess of orchards, this mead highlights the fragrant sweetness of ripe apricots balanced with floral honey.
The result is lush, aromatic, and softly textured.
Ida’s Ruby – Raspberry Mead
Named from Rubus idaeus, this vibrant mead captures the bright character of raspberries.
Fermented with whole fruit grown at Lion’s Head Meadery, and pollinated by our bees,
it offers lively acidity and elegant aromatics reminiscent of a fresh rosé.
Blue Solstice – Blueberry Mead
Inspired by the height of the growing season, this mead captures the deep flavour of sun-ripened blueberries
balanced with floral honey. Its rich colour and structure make it surprisingly wine-like.
Crown of the North – Haskap Mead
Made with haskap berries grown in northern British Columbia, this bold mead offers vibrant colour and lively acidity.
Haskaps are known for their intense berry flavour, often compared to blackcurrant or blueberry.

Velvet Stone – Plum Mead
Inspired by the stone fruits of late summer, this rich yet smooth mead showcases the deep character of ripe plums.
Honeyed fruit notes mingle with hints of almond and spice from the plum skins, creating a velvety texture and deep colour.
Hive & Vine – Pyment (Grape Mead)
A marriage of grapes and honey, this mead blends the richness of honey with the structure of wine.
Made with Marechal Foch grapes from the Shuswap, it offers layered fruit, gentle tannin, and a complex finish.
Queen’s Blush – Dessert Blueberry Mead
Our richest blueberry expression, offering deeper fruit character and a smooth, elegant finish.
This 17% dessert mead is lush yet balanced, perfect for sharing after a meal.
All are made with 100% BC honey and fruit.
